Don’t ask Twitter fans to connect with you on Facebook


A growing number of Twitter users are sending automated messages to new followers asking them to also follow them on Facebook — but that betrays a fundamental misunderstanding of the differing natures of the sites, writes Augie Ray. Loose connections are typical on Twitter, but Facebook is increasingly geared toward more personal relationships, Ray argues.
