Google, Facebook top new Nielsen Internet rankings

Google plus its YouTube unit had nearly double Facebook’s number of unique visitors in July, but Facebook topped the list for amount of time spent by the average user, according to Nielsen’s new Total Internet Audience measure. The metric counts not just Internet visits but also smartphones and tablets. Google by itself led the way in visitors counted, while Yahoo! and Bing ranked third and fourth.
