Social search is the true test of Twitter’s potential

Twitter’s ultimate success or failure could depend on its ability to re-imagine social search, writes John Battelle. The company needs to develop radically new algorithms capable of cutting through social noise and delivering genuinely useful content if it’s to expand and monetize its service, Battelle argues. “If Twitter is going to succeed at scale, it has to totally reinvent search,” he writes.
