Twitter adds a built-in URL-shortening service

Twitter has announced the launch of a built-in URL shortener that will reduce the length of all tweeted links to 19 characters but still will allow users’ followers to see where the links will send them. The service will not provide users with analytics about their links, but that probably offers little consolation for developers of third-party URL shorteners, Alexia Tsotsis writes.  TechCrunch
