Study: Facebook accounts for 56% of all online sharing

More than half of all the content that’s shared online is posted to Facebook, according to a ShareThis study. After studying the browsing and social habits of 300 million people, the study found that 56% of all shared content was posted to Facebook, versus 8% for Twitter. The figures for shared-content referrals were similarly stark: Facebook accounted for 38% of all socially generated traffic, compared with 17% for Twitter and 17% for e-mail.  TechCrunch
