Groupon rolls out new features as Google circles

Groupon has unveiled a raft of new features, including a virtual-storefront service that will allow brands to create and publicize their own deals and a Facebook-linked “Deal Feed” that presents users with a personalized slate of deals. The company’s executives reportedly will meet today to discuss a buyout offer from Google. The new features could make Groupon more attractive to Google, as the search giant looks set to pay as much as $6 billion for Groupon to secure a beachhead in the world of social commerce, Kit Eaton writes.
