Why brands should archive their Facebook pages


Brands should get into the habit of backing up their Facebook pages regularly, using third-party applications to download records of fans and content posted to their page, experts say. The practice is important both from a data-protection standpoint and to provide evidence in case of potential lawsuits arising from activity on the page. “If a page gets hacked or if there is a disruption of service or if your account is suspended by Facebook, you would want to maintain this record for claims, lawsuits, government inquiries,” media lawyer Linda Goldstein says.  Advertising Age (tiered subscription model)
