Facebook launches targeted mobile ads


More than 20 corporate partners have joined Facebook in launching a new mobile ad service that will allow merchants to reach out to consumers who are nearby with discounts via their mobile phones. The “Deals” feature will target users who check in to various locations using the site’s “Places” tool. The first group of advertisers include retailers such as Starbucks, McDonald’s and H&M.  Advertising Age (tiered subscription model)
