Snowballing incentives help brands expand Facebook communities

Several brands have found social-media success using incentives to lure fans to “like” their Facebook pages — especially when they have promised to make their promotions even better as more people join. Increasing the value of Facebook promotions gives people an incentive to spread the word and makes them value their brand connection more, not less, as time goes by, experts say. “By allowing the value of the coupon to be directly linked to the amount of people who want and reserve it, we’ve created a sense of community,” said Genevieve Mazzeo of ConAgra.  Adweek
