Short is the new big thing in advertising


Over the past five years, the number of 15-second TV spots is up 70%, totaling almost 5.5 million, per Nielsen. Last year, 15-second spots comprised 34% of all national ads. Experts credit ad-skipping DVRs, alternative media forms like online video and the lower price of ad placement. “It becomes a very seductive thing to get your message out there at half the cost,” said Mike Sheldon, CEO of Deutsch LA.  TVNewsCheck/The Associated Press
