Web video sites go social to keep people watching


A number of Web video offerings — including a live-streaming service from Facebook — are seeking to make watching videos online a social experience. Services such as Qlipso let users chat and create avatars with which to make expressive gestures while watching videos. The aim is to create a World of Warcraft-style experience that combines entertainment and social interaction, says Qlipso CEO Jon Goldman.  MIT Technology Review
