Social-media marketers get schooled


Business schools are embracing social media in an attempt to give graduates an edge on the job market. Using sites such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Foursquare and Yelp, students learn how to develop buzz and maintain a brand identity. “In the realm of technology it’s possible for us to teach our students a tool that their bosses don’t have, and they can provide that added value from day one,” says John Gallaugher of Boston College’s Carroll School of Management. “Social-media skills are the ones that can set them apart.
