Is social media the new crack?


A group of University of Maryland students who didn’t use a mobile phone or social network for 24 hours displayed withdrawal symptoms resembling those suffered by addicts giving up alcohol or drugs, according to a study from the school’s International Center for Media and the Public Agenda. However, ZDNet blogger Zack Whittaker, in a post, writes that researchers may be going too far in likening the college generation’s desire to be plugged in to an addiction.  Chronicle of Higher Education (free content), The/Wired Campus blog
