Report: FCC to regulate Internet after all

FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski today will advocate regulating broadband services under rules originally adopted for telephone networks — a move that will ratchet up the battle over adoption of network-neutrality standards opposed by most telecom groups, according to various published reports. In response to concerns that a recent federal court ruling cast doubt on the agency’s authority, the FCC said Genachowski would set “meaningful boundaries to guard against regulatory overreach,” and not regulate broadband networks to the full extent phone rules allow.  The Wall Street Journal
