Can your brain cope with Facebook?

Researchers say that our brain structure means we can juggle only about 150 meaningful relationships at any one time, posing a problem for people with thousands of Facebook friends. But don’t worry, writes Jacob Morgan — while there’s a cap on the number of close, deep relationships that we can form, there’s still value in having lots (and lots and lots) of weaker connections. “What social networks have allowed us to do is to build massive networks of weak ties,” Morgan writes. “Build weak ties where you can, because they are extremely valuable.”  Social Media Today
