Trends that will define social marketing in 2010

2010 should be a banner year for social marketers, write Ken Mallon and Duncan Southgate. Expect viral videos and online games to become more polished, location-based and mobile services to take off and data and privacy concerns to play an important role, they write. But marketers will need to remember that they are only as good as their last campaign. “Using new technology won’t in itself bring success,” Mallon and Southgate write. “Your digital communications still need to be creative, engaging and relevant if they are to cut it during the second decade of this century.”  Advertising Age
